Aaron Hill from Watershed Watch Salmon Society and Misty Macduffee from Raincoast Conservation Foundation will present the film!

Pacific salmon is a cultural talisman for First Nations peoples, a staple food not just for humans but for eagles and bear, and a fundamental part in sustaining biodiversity along rivers and stream. We’ve known these things for decades, and politicians and scientists have made efforts to ensure the future and security of the salmon even as we have dammed and polluted our largest waterways. Somehow though, we’re still making things worse.

Artifishal is a film about people, rivers, and the fight for the future of wild fish and the environment that supports them. It explores wild salmon’s slide toward extinction, threats posed by fish hatcheries and fish farms, and our continued loss of faith in nature. –Vancouver International Film Festival
